What are the risks of the procedures?

Any surgical procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, please familiarise yourself on the risks and choices for your procedures. If you wish to find out more, request a Patient Information Booklet or speak to one of our friendly Cosmetic Consultants on 1300 421 574.

What should I discuss during my consultation?

You should discuss your desired look and lifestyle with your surgeon. He or she can then inform you of all the available surgical options to best suit your body type and proportions. Your surgeon will take your medical history, conduct some routine examinations and take measurements to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for your desired procedure.

How long will my implants last?

Every implant we use comes with certification to the highest safety standards in the US (FDA) and Australia (TGA). Our implants also come with a written lifetime guarantee against rupture and leakage. Your lifestyle and how your body responds to the implants will affect the lifetime of the implant and its durability. As with all surgical procedures, revisionary surgery may be necessary to correct any problems or complications that arise. It’s best to discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon during your consultation.

Do implants cause cancer?

No, there is no evidence that breast implants increase the risk of breast cancer. It’s advisable that you continue to undergo regular mammograms and self-examine your breasts for any lumps after your procedure. You can continue to undertake breast screening via non-compression mammograms or ultrasounds. Just let your examiner know that you have had a breast augmentation.

Will implants affect my ability to breast feed?

No, there is no medical evidence to show that silicone implants interfere with breast-feeding. There’s also no evidence of silicone transmission to infants in breast milk. Under the muscle placement of implants ensures that there is no disruption to the nipple or milk ducts, so feeding after a breast augmentation isn’t affected. If you’re pregnant or have concerns about breast feeding, please discuss these with your surgeon during your consultation.
